Adorable Baby Celebration Themes for Each Season

Baby Celebration Themes for Each Season | Spring | Baby Shower Inspiration or First Birthday Party | Lovely & Planned

Are you planning a baby celebration this year and need decoration inspiration, food and drink ideas?? Then this blog series is a must read!! To help you plan a stress-free celebration with ease throughout the year, I put together 4 adorable baby celebration themes for each season. One theme for every season of this year: spring, summer, fall, and winter! You can expect tons of cute ideas and inspirations so instead of worrying where to begin, you have more time to focus on something else 🙂

So let’s start with the blooming season of the year: Spring! Have fun reading and I’d love to hear your comments and ideas!!

Spring – Baby in Bloom Garden Party

This is just THE perfect theme for spring!! The weather tends to be lovely, not too cold anymore but yet not too hot! Everything is in bloom, people want to spend as much time outside as possible, so what better way to celebrate a baby than with throwing an outdoors baby party with tons of flowers! This is theme will never go out of style. Adding, for example, the living coral tone (Pantone’s trend color of the year!) makes this totally trendy for 2019. Adding more blue tones and you easily transform this into a baby boy celebration. Keeping it colorful or adding loads of white tones makes it a gorgeous gender-neutral party.

Decoration Ideas

It’s all about the flowers! So, the first step for this baby celebration theme is to send out floral invitations. Then, for a gorgeous table decoration use either one big centerpiece which looks really good on round tables or for long tables use a couple of small vases that are different in size and style. This looks beautiful with wildflowers. Another idea is to put a flower garland across the table instead of individual flower centerpieces. Use loads of greenery like eucalyptus and tie your napkins with fresh flower sprigs. One way to make this theme budget-friendlier is to use seasonal flowers such as daffodils, tulips, primroses, and peonies in late spring. The guest of honor can wear an adorable flower crown. Another way to incorporate this theme is to use floral dinnerware! All that said, keep in mind that you don’t want to go overboard!! Stick to one color palette, and to one style. Don’t go mixing styles and colors like crazy – unless of course, you like the decoration-gone-wild-look 😉

Food Ideas

My favorite part of every celebration is the food 🙂 And spring makes it so easy to set up a delicious, fresh and light buffet. Some easy examples include smoked salmon and cucumber rolls, finger sandwiches with radish and cress or vegetable quiches. For the dessert table stick to seasonal fruits and light colorful cakes. Like lavender buttercream cake, strawberry cake with whipped cream filling, lemon tartlets with meringue caps or rose and ginger cupcakes! Doesn’t that all sound sooo good?? And the best part is that everthing can be easily decorated with edible flowers to make your buffet look stunning in no time!! Also, think about serving refreshing lemonades or (non-alcoholic) mimosas. They too can be decorated with edible flowers! Here is my favorite spring lemonade that rocks every baby celebration!! This is the exact recipe that I found on The Cookie Rookie:

Lavender Lemonade

Lavender Lemonade | Baby Celebration Theme Ideas | Spring | Baby Shower | 1st Birthday Party | Non-Alcoholic Mimosa | Mom-osa | Recipe by the Cookie Rookie
  • 6 cups water divided
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp dried lavender
  • 2 cups lemon juice
  • Lemon slices and lavender petals for garnish
  • Blue or purple food coloring optional

  • Over medium heat, combine two cups of water and sugar, bringing to a boil until sugar is dissolved. Turn off of the heat and stir in honey and lavender.
  • Allow mixture to steep for 2 hours (less if you want less of a lavender taste). Strain the liquid, pressing the lavender down to make sure you get all of those juices into your mixture!
  • In a large pitcher, combine freshly squeezed lemon juice, lavender mixture, and water.
  • Feel free to add a couple of drops of blue or purple food coloring if you want more color than the lavender provides. Serve over ice.
  • Enjoy!

I hope I could inspire you to try a baby in bloom garden party for your baby celebration in spring!! For some visual inspiration, here a mood board:
