Meet Michaela, the Heart Behind Lovely & Planned

Hi, I’m Michaela, the heart behind Lovely & Planned!

About three weeks ago, I officially launched my website and, by implication, Lovely & Planned too! Even though my business journey started about a year ago, it wasn’t official until my website launch. It felt sooo great finally shouting out to the world that my doors are open!

That moment was everything at once: crazy, wonderful, and exciting but also frightening. Because now, I am officially a business owner, and honestly, that is a bit scary! But that’s another topic for a whole different blog post. Today I want you to meet me, the heart behind Lovely & Planned!

My family

First things first, I’m happily married to Georg, my wonderful, supporting husband! We got married 4 years ago, but have known each other already for 14(!). And our wedding day (caution: cliché!!) was the happiest day of my life!

Another very important “man” in my life is Jaspi, our 10-year-old spitz-spaniel mix. He’s been our furry best friend for almost 6 years, and since I have started my biz journey, he has been my most loyal (and only) team member. He was also our “dog of honor” at our wedding, and even though he wasn’t our ring bearer (we just didn’t trust him enough and still don’t), I’m so glad he was part of our big day.

We are a very adventurous family. We LOVE to travel and explore new cultures, food, and way of life. But at the end of the day, it’s the small things like picnics in the park or fooling around with Jaspi that truly bring me joy!

My secret sauce to master life

Food. No, I’m just kidding, but I really love food: weekend brunches, cupcakes, Indian and Thai food, vegan food, and Italian… ah, what the heck, I love it all!!

More things that fuel my fire are long morning walks when the world around me is still asleep, reading good (thrilling) books, and love poetry (by the way, my favorite poem of all time is My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun by Shakespeare).

My Why

You are probably wondering WHY I became a wedding planner in the first place and why I’m focusing on elopements and intimate weddings! Now here the whole but (sorry for that!!) boring truth:

I have always had a love for aesthetics, planning, and organizing! And the idea for Lovely & Planned started to take shape with my own wedding in 2015. I spent hours talking to vendors, creating timelines and checklists, and thinking about design elements. Along the way, I realized that I truly loved every single step of it!! I loved it so much that even on my wedding day, it was hard for me to hand over the reins. So, after my wedding was over, becoming a wedding planner was the most natural and logical thing for me.

I have specialized in elopements and boutique weddings because I firmly believe a wedding is never about the size of your guest list, but about your love for each other! Your wedding day should always be about the two of YOU – your vision, your expectations, your love!

So that’s the story behind Lovely & Planned! It’s my dream come true!!
