Elopements are unique, intimate boutique weddings that focus entirely on the couple. And while there are many reasons for an elopement, one of the most common ones is to avoid the stress of planning a big, fancy wedding.
But while skipping on the time-consuming party planning, the huge ceremony, and all the stress that inevitably comes along with it, there is one thing you should not forgo!
Namely, hiring a wedding photographer for your elopement, even if it’s just the two of you.
Your elopement is still a wedding that deserves to be captured and remembered in the most beautiful way. Gorgeous photos allow you to share your special day with your loved ones by posting them on social media or uploading them on your wedding website.

Like with any other wedding, your elopement day will pass in the blink of an eye. And your photographer will ensure to capture all those memorable moments—your vows, your first kiss as newlyweds, and overall your happiness.
But don’t just take it from me. I asked destination wedding photographers Cory and Jackie that have specialized in elopements and intimate weddings, why hiring a photographer, even or especially for an elopement, is truly important.

A: Small celebrations are intimate and personal. After years of doing so many weddings of various sizes, we connected the most with small weddings & elopements. It truly feels like it’s about the couple.
A: Investing in great photos is always worthy, regardless of the occasion. However, an elopement is still special and more so, because there are potentially no guests or witnesses. The photos will be the one thing you can share with family & friends.
A: Wedding & Elopement photography is definitely different. With weddings, there are more details, people, and logistics. With Elopements, it’s truly focused on the couple.
A: We spend about 3-4 hours of shooting elopements. This includes some getting ready, ceremonies, and portraits.
A: Hire someone you trust. The photographer you hire will be so much more than a photographer. They will be your sounding board for location, the timing of day for photos, and potentially your only eye witness and who you will be sending the most intimate part of your day with.
A: We do have special rates. Here is our pricing http://elopements.coryandjackie.com/. This does not include travel costs.

A: We have been all over the world. South Africa, Vanuatu, Italy, France, Bahamas, Nicaragua, and so many others. Our favorite country is Italy, a close second is South Africa.
A: The Maldives!
